One UFC fighter who would’ve been hoping to stay active is set for some time on the sidelines.
The third annual Noche UFC event took place in San Antonio on September 13, where several fighters dealt with significant injuries.
Alessandro Costa shared a gruesome video after having his foot caught inside the cage before he was stopped in the third round.
Jared Gordon, who passionately responded to critics, was hit by a car the day before the fight and still competed inside the Octagon on Saturday night.
These instances, along with one particularly rare stoppage, led to some significant medical suspensions for the athletes on the card.

Sedriques Dumas suspended indefinitely after injury led to no contest result at Noche UFC
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, or TDLR, recently handed out a total of 26 medical suspensions for Noche UFC fighters.
Two of those suspensions were indefinite, meaning that they will need to get medical clearance before they can make their return to the Octagon.
One of those fighters, along with Dusko Todorovic, is middleweight fighter Sedriques Dumas.
Dumas’ fight with Zachary Reese ended due to a groin kick early on in the first round, which ‘The Reaper’ couldn’t continue from.
The 30-year-old’s comments to the doctor during the pause in the action suggested that he had suffered a significant injury, with Dumas later being stretchered out of the cage.
This matchup was especially important for the six-fight UFC veteran after Dumas recently spoke about his financial difficulties, sharing that he had just $13.96 in his bank account due to the “price of being an adult and paying legal actions and stuff in your life.”

Jean Silva only receives a 30-day medical suspension after suffering significant damage
In the main event of Noche UFC, Jean Silva was stopped by Diego Lopes in his first loss inside the Octagon.
The ending of the fight saw the surging featherweight contender suffer several significant cuts, though it appears from his 30-day medical suspension that they are not a major concern.
Silva stated that the damage he took ended up impacting the way that he fought when reflecting on the loss via a video on social media.
“Look at this — cut here, my eye. Well, unfortunately, yesterday emotions ran high. I couldn’t see well in that second round and ended up going all out, trying to get out of there swinging,” Silva said (translation via X).”
As a result of his spectacular win in San Antonio, Lopes ended up receiving two additional bonuses.
