Jared Gordon responds to critics telling him he shouldn’t have fought at Noche UFC after being hit by a car
In a recent interview with Full Send MMA, Jared Gordon reacted to his recent loss to Rafa Garcia and Noche UFC.
Gordon came into the fight following a huge KO win over Thiago Moises but on this occasion, it was he who was stopped inside the Octagon.
‘Flash’ said in the interview that he didn’t want to make excuses after the defeat but following Belal Muhammad’s comments, he chose to elaborate on being hit by a car the day before the fight.
Gordon detailed how his foot had gotten stuck underneath the wheel of a car in a freak accident on the Friday.
He tried to hide this injury as best he could because he didn’t want to let people down, though he did tell someone at the UFC Performance Institute.
Gordon also stressed that this wasn’t a financially motivated decision, before taking aim at some of the people who have criticized him for not withdrawing from the fight following the injury.
“Looking at the comments, people are like, ‘Oh, these f—— broke fighters, they shouldn’t be,’ mostly bettors, guys that are losing money on bets. I’m getting DMs, ‘You should tell people when you’re injured so we don’t bet on you.’ F—, you think I give a f— about you and your bets? You f—— degenerate f—— loser.”

Jared Gordon didn’t want to let his supporters or the UFC down at Noche UFC
Jared Gordon was confident he could still win at Noche UFC and didn’t want to let any of his supporters down by withdrawing from the fight on such short notice.
He also told Full Send MMA that he was concerned about what the reaction from the UFC might have been if he had pulled out.
“It just looks bad on you. I don’t know, you get shelved or you’re looked at like you’re not reliable. ‘Day of weigh-ins, you’re pulling out? Like why? We put you on the main card, big card, big spotlight and you’re pulling out? Alright, you’re not trustworthy.'”
When Gordon was asked about whether the UFC would understand due to the freak accident nature of the injury, he said that he didn’t want to test this.
“I don’t know and I didn’t even want to test it. I didn’t want to f—— find out if they would or wouldn’t, you know? And I wanted to fight. I had such a good camp and I felt so good that I was like, ‘I can do this.'”
