Dominick Reyes names dream rematch that he wants at the White House for the belt and it’s not Jon Jones

Dominick Reyes revealed his ‘best case scenario’ for earning a title shot at the White House.

This weekend in Perth, the former title challenger looks to take a huge step towards being back in the mix at light heavyweight.

Reyes faces Carlos Ulberg in the main event this Saturday at the RAC Arena, where he’ll look to extend his three-fight win streak.

‘The Devastator’ has come back from an incredibly difficult run in his career that started with his very first defeat.

While some still believe that Reyes defeated Jon Jones at UFC 247, this isn’t the fight that he thinks the most about running back in the near future.

Dominick Reyes wants to challenge Jiri Prochazka for the title in a rematch at the White House

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie ahead of UFC Perth, Dominick Reyes made it clear that competing at the White House in 2026 would be a huge honor for him.

UFC 320 in Las Vegas next month is going to have a huge impact on the light heavyweight division.

Reyes said that he’s hoping that this will lead to his former opponent, Jiri Prochazka, who faces Khalil Rountree Jr., getting another shot at the title and reclaiming the 205 pound gold so that he can challenge him for it.

“That’s just me talking best case scenario in terms of narratives for the fight. The rematch with Jiri is, that’s the fight.”

After back-to-back losses, Reyes was stopped by Prochazka in devastating fashion at the UFC Apex in May of 2021.

He said that getting this one back still means the most to him even though he doesn’t hold anything negative towards the former champion.

“I believe it does, yeah. The Jiri fight. I don’t really want to fight Alex [Pereira] because he’s my friend. I’ll fight him, but I don’t really want to. [Magomed] Ankalaev, I’ll fight the guy, whatever. Same with Khalil, it’s like whatever but I have no history or ‘I want to get that back’ kind of deal.

“The Jiri fight was a great fight while it lasted and I think if we do it again, it’ll be another amazing fight and I’ve got nothing but respect for Jiri. We’ve actually partied together, me and Jiri, believe it or not.”

Dominick Reyes will be watching UFC 320 very closely following this weekend

Even if Dominick Reyes pulls off one of the biggest wins of his career this weekend in Perth, whether or not he fights for the light heavyweight title next will likely be out of his hands.

It would still seem like Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr. are closer to getting this opportunity.

This is especially true if Magomed Ankalaev defeats Alex Pereira in their rematch considering that the Russian hasn’t fought either of the two contenders that will meet on the same night.

One thing we know for sure is that by the end of October 4, the light heavyweight division is going to go through some major updates.
