Conor McGregor looks set on headlining the White House, but two legends believe he may be the co-feature.
McGregor has already named Michael Chandler as the opponent he will face when making his long-awaited return to the Octagon.
With Dana White already setting expectations incredibly high for this event, ‘The Notorious’ would certainly be a star that would live up to the hype.
However, there are several other big names that have registered their interest in the event at an early stage.
While he still has some convincing to do, his former rival recently made the case for why Jon Jones should come out of retirement for this one-of-a-kind event.

Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen propose that a Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall rematch should headline the White House
On a recent episode of ESPN MMA’s Good Guy / Bad Guy, Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen responded to the news that Conor McGregor is serious about fighting at the White House.
While Cormier believes that McGregor is motivated by a new factor which will make this comeback happen, he doesn’t believe that ‘The Notorious’ will be the one closing the show.
“I believe he would be in the co-main event… That would be too big of an ask to get him to fight in the main event.”
Despite recognizing that McGregor would be by far the biggest star at the event, ‘DC’ believes that you need an American in a title fight at the top of the card.

Sonnen suggested that one of the fights that has been a massive talking point throughout 2025 could take place at the White House, but it wouldn’t be the first time that these two dream opponents would meet.
“Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall, they’ve got a whole year. All they’ve got to do is find their way to an Octagon somewhere in the next 12 months. Whoever gets their hand raised, I think that sets up for a very nice rematch.”
Cormier agreed with his fellow legend’s suggestion, adding that the UFC should implement a boxing-style rematch clause in order to lock both men in to the White House main event.
“If Tom Aspinall can get through Ciryl Gane in October, he fights Jones in like February, they can fight again in June. Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall 2 makes all the sense in the world… That is literally the play. We have a rematch clause for Jones or Aspinall.”

Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen named three other fighters that should be on the card
Daniel Cormier again stressed the importance of having the biggest American names on the roster make the walk in the capital.
After Chael Sonnen kicked things off by adding Sean O’Malley’s name to the White House list, Cormier responded with two more suggestions.
Justin Gaethje seems like a total no-brainer for this card if he’s able to make the date due to his unmatched ability to consistently deliver incredible fights.
As the UFC’s only current American champion, and a former two-time Olympic gold medalist, Kayla Harrison is another obvious selection.
