In recent times, there has been a lot of talk about some big names signing or returning to the UFC.
The promotion recently signed Losene Keita, one of the hottest free agents in the sport after fans called for him to appear inside the Octagon.
It now looks like the UFC has quickly put plans in place for him to make his debut next month at UFC Paris, with Keita reportedly facing Patricio Pitbull.
Meanwhile, a different recent addition to the roster will have to wait a long time before continuing his career, if he is even still signed to the promotion.

Alvin Hines apologizes and admits he lied in a statement after receiving a drug suspension
At UFC 317 in June, Alvin Hines was beaten by Jhonata Diniz in the first loss of the heavyweight’s career when making his UFC debut on short notice.
While he would have hoped to have earned his first win inside the Octagon next time out to keep his place on the roster, he may no longer get this opportunity.
The UFC released a statement on August 15 to announce that Combat Sports Anti-Doping [CSAD] had suspended Hines for one year due to a violation of the promotion’s anti-doping policy.
‘Goozie’ tested positive for anabolic steroids Drostanolone and testosterone in out-of-competition tests, with the statement clearly writing that he consumed these substances before he was signed to the promotion but failed to disclose this.
Hines looked to explain himself in a statement of his own on social media, where he stated that before he was offered a short notice fight in the UFC, he was considering retirement.
The heavyweight admitted that he had lied about this when joining the promotion and took full blame for his actions, hoping that he will get the opportunity for a second chance.
“Yes, I lied. Yes, I accept the consequences I am served. Yes, I am truly sorry for letting everyone down. Yes, I have learned and would never ever, and had not touched anything at all, since the dates I’ve submitted. I truly regret not believing my management team, I really do. Yes, I respect the rules of the UFC and cannot be more disappointed in myself. I let everyone down and broke the trust and for that, I am sorry.”
Alvin Hines might not get the chance to prove himself in the UFC despite hoping for this in his statement
In Alvin Hines’ social media statement, he writes about wanting to have the opportunity to make things right with the UFC.
“Yes, if given the chance, I promise to never break any rules. I promise to be a great role model and athlete representing the UFC. I promise I will be an athlete the UFC can count on. I promise you will not regret giving me a second chance.”
While this is yet to be confirmed by the promotion, a UFC roster tracker, which is fully automated, has claimed that Hines has been removed from the roster.
There’s a chance that this could change once his suspension ends but given that he lost his debut before testing positive, this doesn’t seem like a likely outcome.
