Khabib Nurmagomedov wasn’t satisfied with the outcome of a huge upset in the PFL.
On Friday night, a fighter who many believe is one of the best lightweights in the world looked to bring some more gold back to his acclaimed team.
After Liz Carmouche produced a stunning knockout to win her second title, the main event in North Carolina looked to serve up a fascinating clash of styles.

Khabib Nurmagomedov reacts to Gadzhi Rabadanov’s shocking PFL finals loss
In the PFL World Tournament lightweight finals, Alfie Davis pulled off the upset to end Gadzhi Rabadanov’s dominant streak.
Many expected the Russian to put in another statement performance but this was clearly not going to be the case once the fight started.
The tournament final went all the way to the scorecards where Davis emerged victorious, winning three rounds on each of the scorecards for a unanimous decision.
‘The Axe Man’ was a huge underdog heading into the biggest fight of his career, with Rabadanov booking his spot in the finals with back-to-back first-round finishes.
Once the result was made official, Khabib Nurmagomedov voiced his opinions on the scorecards and clearly wasn’t happy with the outcome.
The former UFC lightweight champion wrote a simple message on his Instagram story, offering support to his teammate following his first defeat since 2020.
“I never understood how the judges calculated. Keep your head up junior.”

Alfie Davis expected that he’d retire after being eliminated from the PFL World Tournament
The result of the lightweight finals wasn’t just a shock to the fans, it surprised the winner as well.
Alfie Davis openly admitted in a post-fight interview that he never expected to make it out of the first round, let alone go on to win the entire tournament.
“No, I thought I was out in the first round to be honest with you. I was thinking, if I lose this, I’ll just retire. I’ve got kids to look after, I’m gonna look for another job. But yeah, every round. To be honest with you, every single fight I’ve come in thinking I’m going to lose.”
Not many people, including Davis himself, would’ve picked him to become the champion at the start of the tournament, but there’s no denying him now.
