A huge UFC title fight is reportedly in the promotion’s plans after Dana White laid out his priorities for 2026.
Following UFC 320 on Saturday night, the promotion’s president was asked several questions about the UFC’s event at the White House in 2026.
White made it clear that nothing has been signed for that card as of yet in response to Conor McGregor’s recent claim that his return is already official.
While there was also talk about Ronda Rousey potentially coming back for this landmark event, the White House isn’t their main focus right now.
There’s another huge event that is coming up in a matter of months, which could be headlined by one of the roster’s top stars.

Report claims that Ilia Topuria vs Justin Gaethje is targeted for the UFC’s Los Angeles event in January
At the post-fight press conference after UFC 320, Dana White told the media that the UFC’s priority right now is putting together a “massive” and “incredible” card for January.
The first major event of 2026 will officially mark the end of the promotion’s PPV model after Paramount became the new home of the UFC.
It has been theorized for some time that the UFC might be holding back some of the roster’s biggest names in order to kick their new broadcast deal off with a bang.
White also said at the press conference that the matchup between Dan Hooker and Arman Tsarukyan will be a number one contender’s fight in the lightweight division.
As for the champion, Eurosport’s Alvaro Colmenero has claimed that Ilia Topuria is in the UFC’s plans for the big January card in Los Angeles.
Colmenero also reported that Justin Gaethje would be the targeted opponent for ‘El Matador’ if this ends up coming together.
Ilia Topuria could be joined by his fellow Georgian champion in Los Angeles
In his post-fight interview after successfully defending the bantamweight title, Merab Dvalishvili made it clear that he’s eager to return at the next available opportunity.
While the UFC could grant the champion his dream to put the belt on the line for a fourth time in 2025, their plans for December may already be in the books.
In this case, Dvalishvili could join Topuria on the UFC’s big event in January after ‘El Matador’ congratulated his fellow Georgian.
Fight fans will likely find out which bouts will headline the UFC’s PPV event in December to mark the end of the ESPN era in the coming weeks .
