Jon Jones seemingly mocks Dominick Reyes after former rival’s resurgence ends in ruthless fashion

Jon Jones checked in on how his former opponent’s path back to the top of the division was getting on.

On Saturday night, Carlos Ulberg stopped Dominick Reyes in the main event of UFC Perth to continue his winning streak at 205 pounds.

While this win could position ‘Black Jag’ for a title shot, his emphatic win brought an end to his opponent’s recent career resurgence.

The former champion appeared to have other priorities away from watching the UFC on Saturday night.

However, after Jones linked up with IShowSpeed, he made sure to dedicate a little bit of time to catching up on the latest results.

Jon Jones comments on UFC Perth’s post-fight press conference after Dominick Reyes’ loss

Over the past five years, there has still been debate about the UFC 247 bout between Jon Jones and Dominick Reyes.

Many believed that the challenger did enough on that night to bring the champion’s incredible winning streak to an end, but what followed was an incredibly difficult period for Dominick Reyes.

His three-fight win streak earned him the opportunity to headline UFC Perth and potentially put himself in the title mix by halting Carlos Ulberg’s momentum.

With Ulberg now targeting the winner of next weekend’s UFC 320 main event, it’s back to the drawing board for ‘The Devastator’ after he worked his way back into a big spot.

As seen in a post by Cageside Press’ Eddie Law, Jones tuned in for the UFC’s live post-fight press conference on Instagram.

Instead of looking the result up for himself, ‘Bones’ asked a simple question to seemingly mock his former opponent who has spoken about Jones ever since they met inside the Octagon in 2020.

“Did Dominick win again?”

Dominick Reyes has already reflected on his UFC Perth loss

Dominick Reyes’ resurgence has been one of the biggest stories in the light heavyweight division as of late.

After suffering three consecutive knockout losses following his close fight with Jon Jones, many questioned whether his career was coming to an early end.

His bounce-back win streak became something that the fans really attached themselves to, but his latest outing has provided another substantial setback.

Reyes reflected on the loss via an Instagram post with a short statement shortly after the fight.

Reyes has certainly proved that he belongs near the top of this division, even if he isn’t one of light heavyweight’s title contenders at this stage.
