Sean O’Malley snubs rival that mocked him when naming boxing star and huge purse he’d want for super fight

Sean O’Malley revealed who he’d want to face in a crossover boxing match and for what kind of money.

There has been a lot of talk in recent weeks about the worlds of MMA and boxing potentially colliding in some form of super fight.

Ilia Topuria’s callouts of Terence Crawford have been largely met with pushback from fans and fellow fighters.

Another current UFC star that has been speaking about wanting to potentially explore this path at some point is Sean O’Malley.

While O’Malley currently has one eye on the UFC’s event at the White House, he was recently asked a question about stepping in the ring.

Sean O’Malley says he’d be tempted by $5 million to fight Gervonta Davis in boxing

Sean O’Malley’s latest podcast episode with his coach Tim Welch isn’t the first time that he’s spoken about fighting a boxing superstar.

O’Malley had previously called out Devin Haney in an attempt to get a huge name to come over and fight him in MMA, which always seemed incredibly unlikely.

This resulted in Haney mocking O’Malley following his submission loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 316 earlier this year.

However, it wasn’t ‘The Dream’ or Ryan Garcia, who was suggested as an opponent during the podcast, that is O’Malley’s preferred opponent.

The former UFC bantamweight champion revealed how much money would tempt him into taking this kind of fight before naming Jake Paul’s next foe as the star he’d want to test himself against.

“I mean, honestly, if there was just a fast a– payday, 100%. I’m thinking like $10 million but then I’m like, if they said five, I’d be like yeah. I don’t know, it’s hard to say. It would be a tough f—— fight. I’d rather fight Gervonta Davis.”

O’Malley has spoken about wanting to face Davis in the past, having called the knockout artist out while he was still a UFC champion.

‘Suga’ went on to say that he knows Davis would also be an incredibly difficult fight, he just believes that his style would be better suited against someone like ‘Tank’.

Sean O’Malley has recently been linked with a UFC return against a top five contender

In a recent YouTube video, Sean O’Malley responded to a rumor regarding his return to the Octagon.

It had been suggested that ‘Suga’ was in talks to face Song Yadong later this year, though he clarified that there hasn’t been an official discussion as of yet.

That being said, O’Malley added that he likes the sound of this possibility, suggesting that it might end up happening.

“Song seems like a great next opponent, though. It makes sense. I like the matchup. It seems good.

“As far as a date goes, December, January, February, f—ing November, I’m ready to go. I’m ready to go. Call me next week, and I’ll probably say that’s too short notice. But I do like the match, it makes sense.”

“I’m healthy. I’m feeling good. I’m training like a motherf—er. Again, I like that matchup. Me vs. Song, if that’s what’s next, hell yeah!”
