Carl Froch reveals Darren Till fight update that even he was surprised about ahead of potential ‘one last dance’

Carl Froch has been spending some time thinking about coming back for one more fight.

The boxing star was recently in attendance to watch Darren Till knock out Luke Rockhold in Manchester.

While ‘The Cobra’ hasn’t fought since his rematch with George Groves in May of 2014, he left the arena on that night with an interesting thought on his mind.

Froch was called out by Till for a boxing clash that the 48-year-old hall of famer admitted he wasn’t going to immediately shutdown, despite being happily retired.

The former super-middleweight champion recently provided the latest update on where he’s at regarding a potential return to the ring.

Carl Froch admits he’s interested in fighting Darren Till for a new reason after speaking to his close circle

When Carl Froch shared his initial thoughts on the fight, he said that the matchup being “easy money” for him was really the only source of motivation for taking it.

Eddie Hearn recently said that while he loves the idea of the fight, he didn’t think that there would be a big enough financial incentive attached to make it happen.

Froch provided the latest update on whether he will return in a video on his YouTube channel, where he stated that while he doesn’t necessarily need or want the fight, he did reach out to some people in his circle to see what they thought about it.

‘The Cobra’ recalled how he spoke to his former trainer, Hearn, and his own family, revealing he was somewhat surprised by the reaction he got from his coach, Robert McCracken.

“The feedback was positive, more positive than I thought it would be.”

Froch went on to say that he’s going to reassess the potential comeback following his trip to Las Vegas this week, adding that he’s coming around to the idea of taking the fight in order to dust off the boots just one more time.

“I’m not writing it off. I’m having a little look in the gym… When I get back, I’m going to see what’s developed, see how the landscape lies… “There’s potential. The thought of getting the old band back together for one last dance, I’ve got to be honest, it’s appealing.”

Carl Froch also took a lot of shots at Darren Till in his latest update

While Carl Froch is confident that a boxing match between him and Darren Till would be a mismatch, the two men have proven themselves to be very effective at selling fights.

One point that was stressed by the former world champion was that the ex-UFC star needs to remember that he’s not the A-side, which could end up being an important part of the negotiations.

Froch also took several shots at Till during the video, making reference to some of the losses that he suffered in the UFC and the manner of the defeats.

“Let’s just be clear about this, he won’t be choking out anybody and the last time that I looked, the last time that I watched a bit of Darren Till in the ring, he was tapping out and getting choked out himself like a little b—-. He taps out really fast as well. He’s not like my mate Michael Bisping who gets choked by GSP and he refuses to tap, he goes out on his shield.”
