Following the weigh-ins for UFC 319, we now know that every fight is confirmed for Saturday night.
Both Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev hit the middleweight mark for their title fight that will headline the card.
Bryan Battle was over the 185-pound limit, but after being fined a percentage of his purse, his matchup will still go ahead as planned.
However, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some controversy on the scales, with Chimaev’s weigh-in leading to some theories from the fans.
The process was anything but smooth sailing in Chicago, which led to criticism from several fighters who are set to be in action on August 16.

Tim Elliott questions whether Kai Asakura successfully made flyweight after strange weigh-in process
There appeared to be several different issues during the UFC 319 weigh-ins despite the fact that all but one of the fighters hit the mark.
Dricus du Plessis spoke on the weigh-in show about how he stepped on the scales later than expected after having to quickly continue his cut due to there being some discrepancies.
“Man, I was so frustrated,” Du Plessis stated after cutting an additional half a pound. “I’m always here early making sure and then the scales just didn’t match up. I mean it was easy, 20 minutes, made the weight and came down but it is very, very frustrating. I was really p—– off at that.”

There was also some confusion regarding the way the weights were being measured, the time that it was taking and the frequent use of the curtain.
Former flyweight title challenger Kai Asakura was one of the fighters who received this treatment, which led to his opponent, Tim Elliott, voicing some frustrations of his own.
“I hate the way they do the weigh ins. It’s on scales no one can read, then they bring out the curtain. Just put us on digital scales for the world to see. Then there’s no question, I’m guessing he wasn’t on weight!”
After Elliott received some criticism from some of Asakura’s fans following his post, he clarified that he wasn’t blaming his opponent or implying that he was attempting to take a shortcut.
“They only bring out the curtain if you miss on the digital scales prior to the official weigh-ins. It’s a flaw in the process, nothing to do with Kai. He made weight because they said he made weight. If there was a screen showing the weight where everyone can see, we’d all know.”

Fans drew attention to several of the issues while the UFC 319 weigh-ins were taking place
The fighters themselves weren’t the only ones who took issue with the way that the UFC 319 weigh-ins were carried out.
Fans noted several of the problems with this process and its execution, which led to some slightly bizarre scenes in Chicago.
Ultimately, this will likely be largely forgotten about due to the fact that all but one of the fighters on the card made weight, meaning that we’re finally close to one of the biggest events of the year taking place.
‘There is absolutely no reason the UFC can’t switch to digital scales.’
‘Absolute shambles in Chicago at the UFC weigh in. Chicago commission doesn’t know how to operate the scales.’
‘There’s something up with the scales. Back-to-back weigh-ins taking ages.’
‘Scale operator is just calling the weights out without the scale fully balancing. Very odd.’
