‘Cut him’… Fans blast UFC 319 star for missing weight despite moving up a division to fight 6ft 5in beast

Just one fighter missed the mark during the UFC 319 weigh-ins on Friday morning.

Khamzat Chimaev stripped naked before coming in 2lbs below the 185lb middleweight limit.

Dricus du Plessis completed a 45lb body transformation and made it look easy when he weighed in for the latest defense of his title.

However, a newcomer to the middleweight division was 4lbs overweight when he hit the scales 24 hours before UFC 319.

Bryan Battle misses weight again

Bryan Battle is set to make his return to middleweight against Nursulton Ruziboev on Saturday night.

The 6ft 5in Russian had no issue making the 186lb limit after previously competing at welterweight.

Battle’s move up to the division, which is reigned over by Dricus du Plessis, was prompted by his inability to consistently make 171lbs.

What seemed like a size issue was believed to have been eradicated by his jump up to a new weight class that allows him to weigh 15lbs heavier for his UFC fights.

Still, Battle managed to miss weight by 4lbs, despite stripping down when he hit the scales ahead of UFC 319.

Some UFC fans believe Battle should be severely punished for missing weight for a second fight in a row.

“Cut him, honestly,” one fan said. While another added: “What a f—ing idiot.”

“Release this bum already. Talks too much and can’t make weight for s—” a third X user commented.

“Cancel and cut,” someone else demanded.

“Wow. Not even close. Totally unacceptable as a professional,” another person tweeted.

“Really bad look, UFC career is on line,” a sixth fan wrote.
