Khamzat Chimaev is just days away from fulfilling the potential that many believed he had from the moment he first arrived in the UFC.
Despite some concerns being raised, Dana White has dismissed claims about Chimaev becoming champion and whether it would cause issues for the promotion.
‘Borz’ hasn’t had a good track record in recent times of staying active, but he’s confident that he can put this behind him following UFC 319.
Chimaev’s social media stats place him among Ilia Topuria and Islam Makhachev as the biggest active stars on the UFC’s roster.
As his stock continues to rise, the undefeated challenger was recently asked what he intends on buying with his earnings from this upcoming weekend.

Khamzat Chimaev wants to give back to his family after admitting he’s not interested in buying things for himself
When Khamzat Chimaev first arrived in the UFC, he quickly gained a reputation for being a cold and calculated phenom that only wants to smash his opponents and make money.
While the challenger has admitted that the financial side of fighting is still a huge part of his motivation, clearly this isn’t just for his own personal benefit.
Chimaev was asked about his plans for his post UFC 319 spending in a recent video from Adam Zubayraev, who has been documenting fight week.
‘Borz’ showed off the watch that he was wearing in Chicago before the question came up of whether he intends on adding to his timepiece collection after fighting for the middleweight title.
He responded by saying that rather than planning on buying something for himself with his winnings, he wants to take a more selfless approach.
“I’m tired of buying things for myself. We’ll do something for my parents. I’m no longer interested in buying watches. It doesn’t excite me.”
When Chimaev was asked what does excite him if buying watches no longer scratches that itch, he spoke more about giving back to his family.
“Doing something for my father, for my mother, for my family, for my brother. Making them happy brings more joy than doing it for myself.”

Khamzat Chimaev is set to compete alongside his teammate at UFC 319 following a shocking update
By the time that Khamzat Chimaev makes the walk at the United Center in Chicago, his teammate will have already made his UFC debut earlier on in the night.
Baysangur Susurkaev called for this opportunity after being signed to the UFC following a devastating performance on Dana White’s Contender Series.
While the UFC 319 card was already complete, the matchmakers granted him his wish, booking the undefeated competitor against Eric Nolan just four days after his win at the Apex in Las Vegas.
Susurkaev now has a huge opportunity to follow in Chimaev’s footsteps by instantly announcing himself in the promotion.
