Michael Chandler drops bombshell on his UFC future as he reveals talks with WWE’s Triple H

UFC star Michael Chandler has been putting in work behind the scenes to set up a future in the WWE.

Chandler has had a career of ups and downs since joining the UFC five years ago following three title reigns in Bellator.

The American has won just two of his seven fights inside the Octagon, losing to the likes of Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier. Since Chandler’s debut win over Dan Hooker, he’s only had his hand raised against Tony Ferguson.

Most recently, Chandler’s one-sided loss to Paddy Pimblett left him on a three-fight losing skid and far from title contention in the lightweight division. But even in defeat, it can never be said that Chandler doesn’t entertain.

That trait would no doubt be useful for a career in professional wrestling, something the UFC’s newfound connection with WWE could pave the way for.

Michael Chandler spoke to Triple H about a WWE ‘contract’

The UFC and WWE’s finances were merged under one banner after Endeavor — the UFC’s parent company since 2016 — acquired the pro wrestling promotion back in 2023.

Under the singular TKO entity, the MMA and wrestling organizations have promoted one another’s events and stars, raising questions over athletes potentially having an easier path to cross over.

Among those long intrigued by the possibility is Chandler. And judging by what he told The Schmo in a recent interview, the 39-year-old has been doing what he can to set up a WWE future behind the scenes.

“I was talking to Triple H about my WWE contract, so we’re trying to make that happen,” Chandler said.

“He knows I’m a fan of WWE and him and the brand. He’s obviously a fan of what I bring to the table from an entertainment standpoint, what I can do on the microphone.

“He knows I want that door to be open, and I think he wants that door to be open too,” Chandler added.

Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque is a former WWE star and the company’s current chief content officer.

Michael Chandler already has WWE promo experience

Even for those unfamiliar with MMA, Chandler would not be a new face to WWE fans if he were to sign with the organization in the future.

‘Iron Mike’ memorably appeared on a WWE broadcast while attending a February 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw at Anaheim’s Honda Center.

Chandler delivered a passionate promo calling out Conor McGregor. That matchup was later booked for the summer but fell through after the Irishman pulled out due to a toe injury.

The veteran fighter has delivered similar microphone work inside the Octagon, leaving many fans calling for a WWE stint.

A WWE venture would put Chandler in strong company, with the likes of Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar, and Bobby Lashley also forging careers in both MMA and pro wrestling.
