It seems that Jon Jones is getting tired of addressing the Tom Aspinall situation.
The UFC heavyweight division remains in a period of uncertainty, as the two champions look no closer to having their logical unification fight booked.
An injury to Jones paved the way for Aspinall to knock out Sergei Pavlovich and become interim champ, seemingly setting up his dream fight against the leading GOAT contender.
Jones, however, doesn’t share the same enthusiasm.
‘Bones’ has dismissed calls to fight the Brit, instead hinting at retirement. Fan fury over that stance has left almost 200,000 signing a viral petition calling for the UFC to strip Jones.
Although he claims to be relaxed and unbothered by the growing discontent, the mention of him fighting Aspinall certainly irked Jones during a recent interview.
Jon Jones cuts interview short after getting asked about Tom Aspinall
The latest remarks surrounding Jones’ future came during an appearance on the Full Send Podcast while he was in Miami for this past Saturday’s Dirty Boxing event.
After previously discussing Aspinall and addressing whether or not he plans to compete one more time, the topic reared its head again.
“What would it take to fight Tom Aspinall? Like, from the UFC? What does the UFC gotta do?” Jones was asked.
The resurgence of that topic clearly bothered the heavyweight champ, who ended the interview after what he called a “wild” question.
“You’re saying something real wild and off the cuff. I’ll see you guys later,” Jones said.
Footage after showed Jones telling the camera it was his first time doing an interview “after a few drinks.”
Jon Jones insists Dana White can make the Francis Ngannou super fight
While Jones remained negative with his view of fighting Aspinall, the same can’t be said when it comes to Francis Ngannou.
After recently expressing interest in that super fight amid talk of ‘The Predator’ perhaps returning to the UFC, Jones insisted White can make the Ngannou fight happen.
“I think Dana gets things done,” Jones said when asked about Ngannou during the same interview. “I think business speaks before emotions.
“If Francis presents himself in a humble way, I think that he could very easily be back in the UFC.
“Absolutely,” Jones added when asked if he thinks Ngannou will return to the Octagon. “Dana White is one of the best sports minds in recent history for a reason. Money talks. Francis brings eyes, and I’m sure Dana will be interested.
“Time changes things, and time heals all. There was moments in my career where I thought Dana absolutely hated me. Now I feel he’s a big advocator for me.”

The PFL, for one, has made it clear that they are willing to cross-promote the super fight. But the chances of White and his promotion sharing that sentiment appear incredibly slim.
