Tony Ferguson might be the only other MMA fighter who gets what Israel Adesanya experienced earlier this month.
The former two-time UFC middleweight champion was left puking in a trash can after spending some time training with the famous fitness influencer, former Navy Seal, and record-holding endurance athlete, David Goggins.
Tony Ferguson went through ‘Hell Week‘ with Goggins before he fought Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296 in December 2023.
‘El Cucuy’ made it through the grueling ordeal designed to break wannabe US Navy Seals, but he vomited just like Israel Adesanya did during the day he spent with Goggins.
Tony Ferguson says Hell Week was easy
Last week, Tony Ferguson shared footage of him skipping in a boxing gym on Instagram.
During his workout, the former UFC interim lightweight champion talked about Adesanya and Goggins training together before joking about Hell Week being ‘easy work’ for him.
“You see Goggins coaching Izzy? He has him puking, too,” Ferguson said to someone off-camera.
“Oh yeah. It’s good man. I think every fighter should go through that s—.
“Maybe not a whole week. But damn, at least a session.
“By the way, that week with Chief Goggins, light-work, coach, light work.”
What’s next for Tony Ferguson?
Tony Ferguson hasn’t fought since suffering his eighth consecutive UFC loss in August 2024.
A rear-naked choke defeat to Michael Chiesa led to Ferguson finally leaving MMA’s premier promotion.
After ending his 13-year UFC stay, the American signed with GFL and booked a fight with Dillon Danis.
In April, the new MMA league canceled its first two events and left Ferguson vs Danis in limbo.
Ferguson and Danis insisted their fight was still on when the news broke, but more than a month later there’s been no update about when or where they will throw down.
