Magomed Ankalaev’s light heavyweight title reign ended in embarrassingly quick fashion at UFC 320.
Alex Pereira needed just 80 seconds to take back his belt with a knockout win on Saturday night.
MMA fans are calling Magomed Ankalaev’s defense one of the most ’embarrassing’ in UFC history.
Only three UFC champions have lost their titles more quickly than the Russian fighter did at UFC 320.

3. Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos
Cain Velasquez dismantled Brock Lesnar to become the UFC heavyweight champion in October 2010.
13 months later, 13-1 contender Junior dos Santos made it look easy as he took the title in 64 seconds.
Cain Velasquez was dropped by a massive overhand right before getting put to sleep by follow-up strikes.
The heavyweight legend got his revenge and proved that defeat was a fluke by mauling Dos Santos in their two subsequent meetings.
It seems unlikely Magomed Ankalaev will get another crack at Alex Pereira, who is targeting a super fight with Jon Jones in 2026.
2. Jessica Andrade vs Weili Zhang
Jessica Andrade won the UFC strawweight title with a crazy slam KO win over Rose Namajunas.
The jury was still out on the Brazilian as a champion when she fought Zhang Weili in August 2018.
Andrade’s critics were proven correct as she was wiped out by the Chinese superstar in 42 seconds.
Unlike Cain Velasquez, ‘Bate Estaca’ never got revenge to re-establish herself as the best fighter in her weight class.
Andrade is currently riding a three-fight losing streak and is facing retirement calls at 34 years old.
1. Jose Aldo vs Conor McGregor
Conor McGregor‘s 13-second featherweight title win over Jose Aldo may never be topped.
Unlike the other fighters on this list, Jose Aldo dominated his division for a decade before coming up against MMA’s biggest star in December 2015.
That fact only made it more impressive when McGregor flatlined him with one shot in their 145lb unification bout.
Aldo bounced back to become a champion again. The Brazilian legend has only just retired from MMA, after spending the last decade competing at the very top of the featherweight and bantamweight divisions.
So, although Aldo’s defeat to McGregor is officially the worst title defense in UFC history, he can consider himself unlucky to feature on the same list as Magomed Ankalaev and Jessica Andrade.
