Patchy Mix shows off gruesome hematoma over his eye, speaks on back-to-back UFC losses

Patchy Mix’s UFC run hasn’t gone according to plan.

For years, the former Bellator Champion called himself the best bantamweight in the world. Mix looked to prove just that when he joined the UFC roster in May, but he has yet to impress, losing his first two fights in the Octagon.

Patchy Mix dropped decisions to #8-ranked contender Mario Bautista at UFC 316 and UFC debutant Jakub Wiklacz at UFC 320 on Saturday night.

Mix had something to show for his last fight—a nasty hematoma over his right eye, courtesy of Wiklacz, a protege of all-time great Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

On Sunday, Mix posted several photos of the hematoma over his eye.

Mix’s right eye was swollen shut.

“Sometimes it just hits a little different,” Mix wrote on his Instagram story.

“I trust God’s plan,” Mix added.

Mix released another statement following his loss on Facebook.

“Walking home from the arena, man, just hits you,” Mix said.

“Gotta keep it in perspective. Can’t win split decisions and be happy when I win them.

“And then when I lose them, I can’t be upset either. You know?

“So, much respect to my opponent and his team. Gotta get back to the drawing board, get better,” said Mix.

Patchy Mix’s last win in Bellator was a controversial split decision

Mix, the final Bellator bantamweight champion, nearly lost his world title in the fight before his UFC debut.

Many fans argued Magomed Magomedov did enough to dethrone Mix after going the five-round distance.

One judge scored the fight for Magomedov, but Mix would pull away with the split decision victory, retaining his title for the final time.

Prior to the controversy, Mix had back-to-back finishes over then champions Raufeon Stots and Sergio Pettis.
