Merab Dvalishvili will continue to celebrate his UFC 320 victory long after videos emerged of his hilarious post-fight antics on Saturday night.
The Georgian is well known as one of the hardest workers in the UFC, but when it comes time to party – he can do that pretty hard in his own right. After dominating Cory Sandhagen over five rounds last night in Las Vegas, the champion hit the clubs well into the early morning.
However, he will have to recover in time for a big responsibility this afternoon as he attends the wedding of close friend and former champion Aljamain Sterling. Luckily, the pair don’t have to go back to their native New York, as the ceremony is happening just outside of Las Vegas.
Merab Dvalishvili’s post-UFC 320 party gets rowdy as star goes shirtless
Once the hard work inside the octagon was over and his belt was defended, Merab Dvalishvili wasted no time getting to the club in Las Vegas. The champion had confidently arranged an after-party at XS night club prior to the fight, and he arrived in style with belt still in hand.
Dvalishvili has now defended his title three times in ten months, and plans to sneak in a fourth if possible this December. But he didn’t seem in any way tired as he brandished his belt on stage and danced with fans.
He even tore off his shirt at one point, with footage going viral across social media. He also threw kicks and shadowboxed, much to the delight of the gathered crowd, before getting his top off and throwing his belt in the air.
Celebrities including Amber Rose attended to celebrate his victory, as well as fans who bought packages through the club.
Merab Dvalishvili joins Aljamain Sterling for wedding this afternoon
While it seems that the champion stayed out late last night – or more accurately early this morning – he won’t have much time to sleep off the festivities. He will hurry out to Henderson this afternoon to join Aljamain Sterling at his wedding ceremony.
Sterling, who met Dvalishvili when the pair trained and lived in New York, has been a long-time friend and neighbor of the champion. They refused to fight each other when the American had the belt, with the Georgian only winning the title when his pal moved up in weight.
Sterling cornered Dvalishvili to victory last night, and the pair will celebrate his wedding today just outside of Las Vegas.
