Dana White pays tribute to Arthur Jones

A reporter at UFC 320 asked Dana White if he’d spoken to Jon Jones since he lost one of his siblings.

The UFC CEO used that moment to pay tribute to Arthur Jones and assure fans that his former two-weight champion is doing okay.

“I’ve talked to him a few times,” White said about Jon Jones during his post-fight press conference.

“Most of you probably interacted at one point or another with Arthur – he was such a great guy.

“When someone passes away like that, in their sleep, so young, not even 40 years old yet, it’s brutal.

“From the conversations I’ve had with Jon, I think he’s handling it pretty well.

“These things are never easy.”

Alex Pereira’s moment of silence at UFC 320

Alex Pereira knocked out Magomed Ankalaev to win back his light heavyweight title at UFC 320.

Post-fight, ‘Poatan’ sent a message to Jon Jones and his family before holding a moment of silence.

“We got some news recently,” Alex Pereira told Joe Rogan.

“Something has happened, so I wanna give my respect to Jon Jones and his whole family.

“I wanna ask everyone here and everyone at home to take a moment of silence for his brother.”

Jones reacted to Pereira’s wholesome gesture with a two-word post on social media.

“Wow Alex,” the 38-year-old tweeted alongside a praying emoji.
