Boasting a pair of championship fights overnight, BKFC 82 delivered in expectation throughout the card — paired with a rather unique moment during an early prelim clash.
Making their trip to New Jersey, BKFC fielded a notable card littered with a host of former UFC talent including both Mike Perry and Jeremy Stephens in the night’s anticipated headliner.
Pulled from the card ahead of fight night, former Octagon titleholder Frankie Edgar was a disappointing removal from the homecoming event.
However, making up for action throughout, a particular early preliminary card clash produced the first-ever double knockdown in the history of the David Feldman and Conor McGregor-led promotion.

Jmani Oliver and Irakli Ghvinjilia produce first BKFC double knockdown
Facing off at the lightweight limit in the second bout of the night in Newark, Jmani Oliver and Irakli Ghvinjilia etched their respective names in the history books of BKFC.
And in the rather overlooked bout, the duo managed to turn in a rather unique double knockdown during a particular exchange — becoming the first fighters in the promotion’s young history to achieve such a feat.
Shocking organizational boss Feldman in the process, a host of fans on social media reacted to the stunning moment between Oliver and Ghvinjilia.
“The most brutal organization in the world,” a user wrote on Instagram.
A second user pointed to the historic nature of the knockdown, with Ghvinjilia’s hand touching the canvas, writing, “History is made again! Long live the BKFC.”
Reacting to the result of the clash, Ghvinjilia, who suffered a unanimous decision (48-45, 48-45, 47-45) defeat to Oliver, wrote, “I won the fight,” disagreeing with the decision.
Another commenter declared BKFC was simply the most dangerous and destructive promotion on earth, writing, “The most brutal organization in the world.”
A fifth user also boasted the rise of the Feldman and McGregor-backed promotion, writing, “Arguably the most up-and-coming fighting sport! Now, what if you could kick in this and grapple?”
Mike Perry channels inner Conor McGregor after main event win
Hit with the challenge to win and remain in the promotion by long-time nemesis McGregor ahead of his return against Stephens, the above-mentioned Perry certainly delivered when it was needed most.
Scoring a slew of knockdowns against Iowa veteran Stephens in their King of Violence title headliner, Perry recorded an eventual fifth round finish over the former UFC featherweight staple.
Afterwards, channeling a 2016 version of promotional backer McGregor, the outspoken Flint finisher Perry replicated the Dublin megastar’s infamous post-fight interview after his lightweight title win over Eddie Alvarez.
