‘Couldn’t find a sitter’… Fan with newborn baby becomes viral sensation at UFC 320

Rivalling the stunning title ascension of Alex Pereira overnight, a particular fan at UFC 320 caught a viral moment for his company at the pay-per-view card.

Capturing all the attention in Las Vegas, former two-weight champion Alex Pereira would reclaim the light heavyweight title with a staggering 80-second knockout win over Magomed Ankalaev in the pair’s rematch.

And on a main card littered with a host of eye-catching finishes, Pereira stole the show with a roughshod win over the Russian.

However, to open the main card, a particular submission stoppage would lead to one of the most viral moments of the night — outside the cage, in fact.

Spectator brings newborn baby to UFC 320 card

Opening the night’s pay-per-view action, Contender Series product Joe Pyfer turned in his third straight win with an impressive finish of Abus Magomedov.

And sprinting over to the Octagon fence in order to confront the promotion’s matchmakers, Pyfer’s celebration was cut short with the camera panning to fan reactions in the crowd.

Capturing the attention on social media, a particular fan brought with him a newborn baby to the card — swaddled up, wearing ear protectors as fans cheered around it.

“Couldn’t get a sitter, wasn’t letting the ticket go to waste,” A user commented on X.

A second user claimed the newborn baby in question is now destined to join the elites of combat in the future and land themselves an undisputed championship in the UFC, writing, “Bros out here raising a future undisputed heavyweight champion.”

Comically, a third commenter claimed that while the father in question was an “awesome” dad for bringing a child to an event like UFC 320, he put a lot on the line: “The line between being an awesome dad and CPS is very thin.”

Another user suggested the newborn baby would grow up to be a massive fan of Pereira in the future, and even utter the Sao Paulo star’s patented catchphrase as their first words, commenting, “Baby’s first word is going to be “Chama” lol.”

Alex Pereira embraces Mark Zuckerberg after UFC 320 win

Following his timely destruction of defending champion Ankalaev, Brazilian megastar Pereira embraced his team in the cage before exiting and shared a moment with MMA uber fan Mark Zuckerberg.

Blasted as a brand new jinx in the combat sports community following Pereira’s loss to Ankalaev earlier this year, Zuckerberg — who was sitting amongst UFC executives Octagon-side, was hugged by the new champion.

Expected to remain active in his second reign as light heavyweight champion, Pereira must first assess the severity of a rather persistent injury, which raised its head again last night.
