Light heavyweight fighters owned the UFC’s first pay-per-view show in six weeks.

Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira rematched for the 205lb title at UFC 320 on Saturday night.

Before that, two top contenders clashed for the right to face the winner in their very next fight.

Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr went to war in what fans called ‘The People’s Main Event’.

Jiri Prochazka vs Khalil Rountree Jr result

Jiri Prochazka left Khalil Rountree Jr face down on the floor with a third-round KO at UFC 320.

A tentative first frame burst into life after about two minutes. Rountree Jr landed the cleaner and heavier shots, leaving Prochazka visibly frustrated when his lone moment of success was immediately countered by a better shot.

Prochazka appeared to have a big balance issue in round two. The former light heavyweight champion kept slipping on the canvas, but he did a better job of putting pressure on his opponent and landing shots over the course of the five-minute frame.

Rountree Jr did cleaner work. The 35-year-old even managed to wobble Prochazka towards the end of the round, but he didn’t try to finish the fight.

Prochazka turned up the pace and found success at the very start of round three. The Czech fighter had his opponent in all kinds of trouble as he landed a vast variety of kicks and punches.

Rountree Jr. tried to fight back, but he ended up getting flatlined by a massive Prochazka punch.

Jiri Prochazka wants a title shot

Jiri Prochazka thinks he’s done enough to earn a shot at the UFC light heavyweight title.

Post-fight, the 32-year-old called to face the winner of Magomed Ankalaev vs Alex Pereira 2.

“I believe the next one will be one of these two who will fight for the title tonight,” Prochazka told Joe Rogan.

“I already offered Carlos Ulberg a fight, he denied me to fight Dominick Reyes, but that doesn’t matter for me right now.

“I already beat the former light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill. Right now, Khalil.

“Believe me or not, my opponent makes my performance. And I believe if it will be one of these two headlining tonight, my performance will be the best.”
