Max Holloway ‘guarantees’ Alex Pereira will bring back ‘vintage’ weapon as he predicts UFC 320 main event

BMF title holder Max Holloway believes Alex Pereira will go back to his roots and bring out his old weapon at UFC 320.

On Saturday night, the premier promotion returns to the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for UFC 320, headlined by a light heavyweight title fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Alex Pereira.

‘Poatan’ is hoping to return to winning ways by putting his last performance against the Russian behind him, after Ankalaev dominated him on the feet for five rounds to win the title.

And with the first meeting between the two being a shock result, the UFC fanbase is split over who they think will walk out of ‘Sin City’ with the title this time around.

Max Holloway outlines weapon that will see Alex Pereira reclaim title

After the Russian showcased that he can beat ‘Poatan’ on the feet the last time they fought, he is heading into the rematch as the moderate favorite amongst the bookies.

However, the MMA world is seemingly split on who they think will win, with the likes of Alexander Volkanovski backing Ankalaev to retain his title, whereas Dricus Du Plessis believes Pereira will bounce back with a win.

Current BMF champion Max Holloway has also provided his expert prediction of the fight, predicting that Pereira will utilize one of his ‘vintage’ weapons to pick up the win.

“I’m telling you right now, I’m willing to bet right now with anyone that we’re gonna see Alex Pereira’s vintage leg kicks in this fight,” Holloway said in a video on his YouTube channel.

“I guarantee he was p—– at himself for that first fight for not doing it, especially with the information that he had with the way Magomed takes leg kicks.

“I think Alex goes in there, he’s not gonna get held against the cage, I think he’s gonna stay his distance, I think he’s gonna get on the leg kicks early and I think Alex gets his hand raised, I think Pereira will be the champion again.”

Ankalaev struggled with leg kicks in fight that ended in a draw

‘Blessed’ Holloway picked up on the fact that in one of Ankalaev’s previous fights, he struggled massively with the threat of leg kicks.

When the Russian fought against Jan Blachowicz for the vacant light heavyweight title back in 2022, Blachowicz plastered the Russian’s leg with his kicking attacks, resulting in him not being able to stand on his feet.

And if Pereira is once again able to utilize his dangerous weapon, we may see ‘Poatan’ once again reign as a UFC champion.
