Jiri Prochazka’s training method confuses fans

Jiri Prochazka is working on controlling his breathing ahead of his title eliminator at UFC 320.

During one workout, the 32-year-old restricted his oxygen intake by putting a peg on his nose.

Prochazka also kept his mouth shut as he did 40-second sprints without taking a single breath.

The strange exercise left fans both confused and amused by the top 205lb contender.

“Everything other than learning how to defend,” one fan said. While another asked: “Is there anything more Jiri than this?”

“This is one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen lol. Genuinely have no idea how this would help him at all,” someone else tweeted.

“What could possibly be the benefit of this?” a fourth person wondered.

“A madman,” another amused X user commented.

“This actually works lol,” a sixth fan insisted.

A light heavyweight title rematch will headline UFC 320 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this weekend.

Magomed Ankalaev outpointed Alex Pereira to become the 205lb king at UFC 313 earlier this year.

Now they’ll go at it again after clashing during a UFC Performance Institute run-in last week.

In the co-main event, bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will face Cory Sandhagen in his fourth title defense.

Before that, 12 exciting fights will take place when MMA’s premier promotion puts on a numbered card for the first time in over six weeks.
