Conor Benn suffered hideous facial injuries in narrow win that saw his perfect record shattered

An emerging force as a young professional, Conor Benn pulled victory from the jaws of defeat — after suffering a series of brutal facial injuries.

Enjoying an impressive 23-fight unbeaten run to kickstart his career as a household British name, incoming star Conor Benn had turned a dominant reign as a Continental champion prior to his first loss.

And pushed to his limit in his first fight with arch-rival Chris Eubank Jr. earlier this year, Benn is gearing up for a bad-blooded rematch with the familial rival next month.

However, earlier in his young career, the Greenwich native counted himself lucky to emerge with his undefeated record intact.

Conor Benn saw unique record halted in Cedrick Peynaud clash

Twice facing off with French prospect Cedrick Peynaud inside just thirteen career fights, Benn certainly felt the force of the former’s punches in the first of their two bouts.

Making a trip to York Hall back in 2017, Benn saw his perfect run of never suffering a career knockdown in the ring halted inside just a round.

Dropped twice in the opening frame by the Frenchman, Benn would go on to score his own pair of knockdowns in the fifth and sixth rounds, respectively.

Keeping his unbeaten record intact, however, Benn would ride out a decision win — but not before showing off some ghastly facial injuries suffered during the fight.

Rematching the above-mentioned Peynaud the following year, Benn was forced the distance over the course of ten rounds for the first time in his career, landing a unanimous decision triumph.

Conor Benn issues severe warning to Chris Eubank Jr.

Tasked with rebounding from defeat for the first time in his young boxing career, Benn is confident of putting wrongs from earlier this year right in his rematch with enemy Eubank Jr.

Sharing the ring again in just weeks’ time, Benn claimed he would “iron out” the outspoken Hove native when they tangle in the squared circle.

Should Benn manage to avenge the defeat, he would likely position himself for a host of high-profile fights — which Eubank Jr. has recently played up.
