Watch Francis Ngannou squash PFL beef after skipping and criticizing Africa event he helped create

Francis Ngannou’s relationship with PFL appears to be back on track after his latest social media post.

The former UFC heavyweight champion promised to deliver an event in Africa after signing with MMA’s second league in 2023.

PFL hosted its inaugural event on the continent as Donn Davis and co. took their show to Cape Town, South Africa, in July.

Francis Ngannou squashes PFL beef

Francis Ngannou revealed his shocking reason for skipping the PFL Africa event soon after upsetting his employer with his no-show.

“I mean, I’ve been waiting for this for two years, and this was a big part of it,” he said in August.

“If you want to know what exactly is the reason why I wasn’t there. I wasn’t very okay with the first PFL Africa event seeming to be like an undercard.

“We work a lot for that, PFL Africa, but I hoped PFL Africa’s debut would have at least have its glory, its moment. But that wasn’t my decision, and I wasn’t down for it. I expressed my feelings to them.”

On Sunday, Ngannou suggested he’ll be in attendance when the PFL returns to Africa on October 18.

Any issues appear to have been ironed out behind the scenes ahead of the show in Kigali, Rwanda.

“Hey everyone, it’s Francis Ngannou here, the PFL Africa Chairman,” the heavyweight superstar said in an Instagram video.

“I’m calling all of you to come join us in Kigali at the BK Arena on October 18.

“This is where African MMA will take center stage. Come witness greatness.

“See our warriors rise and be part of history. Don’t miss out, come join us.”

Francis Ngannou’s next fight

Francis Ngannou knocked out Renan Ferreira when he made his PFL debut last October.

Since then, he’s been heavily linked with a return to boxing after previously fighting Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

A boxing bout with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has been rumored for months.

Ngannou’s next MMA opponent could be decided by an upcoming fight between two former champions.

Vadim Nemkov and Renan Ferreira will clash for the PFL heavyweight title on December 13.

The winner will be ready to welcome Ngannou back to MMA whenever he is ready to return.
