Acelino Freitas has issued a new statement following his controversial fight with Wanderlei Silva.
The former two-time boxing world champion fought Wanderlei Silva in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Saturday night.
All hell broke loose when the UFC Hall of Famer was disqualified for repeatedly throwing headbutts during their boxing exhibition bout at Spaten Fight Night 2.
Wanderlei Silva got knocked out cold when members of both teams brawled in the ring post-fight.

Acelino Freitas issues new statement from hospital
Wanderlei Silva’s comeback opponent initially apologized for the ugly scenes that occurred after their fight.
Now, Acelino Freitas has issued a new statement after his son, Rafael Freitas, was identified as the man who KO’d Silva during the ugly post-fight brawl.
The 41-2 boxer, nicknamed ‘Popo’, addressed rumors that the attack on Silva was premeditated before slamming ‘The Axe Murderer’ for playing dirty as he spoke on their fight from a hospital bed.
“I’m in Salvador. At the Hospital. Boarded. In observation. Having a surgical procedure tomorrow, I’ll pass on more details with you all as soon as possible,” Freitas captioned his latest Instagram post.
“What I would like to be doing right now was, for sure, celebrating the victory! We took the belt from Spaten Fight Night and nothing that happened will overshadow this epic moment for boxing and Brazilian sport.
“With regard to the audios and videos you guys have been watching around, don’t be manipulated. Never, under any circumstances would – my team and I – premeditate post-fight confusion. I have decades of boxing, with the principles of the noble art naturally woven into my life … and I’ve never been involved in any of that, let alone my team and my kids!
“They want to impose on us the conduct that is one of the most runs in the history of those involved in the opposing team.
“Anyway: there’s only one image prevailing in the show prepared by Spaten: that of my victory, punishing Wand round after round – which unbalanced him, to the point of all illegal measures, playing dirty and being disqualified for anti-sports actions, when ONLY HE AND I were in the ring road
“May God take care of me in this medical procedure! And that soon I may be fully recovered from the savagery of those who should be there to absorb and dismiss any misunderstanding – and not the other way around.
“Everything comes to pass! I am convinced that I will come back even stronger! And fighting high-level people who respect boxing like I do.”
Wanderlei Silva’s 3:30am health update
In the early hours of Monday morning, Wanderlei Silva provided a health update after suffering a viral KO.
The 49-year-old MMA icon complained about a ‘headache that won’t go away’ when he broke his silence on Sunday. A few hours later, it stopped him from sleeping and triggered another visit to the hospital.
“Yeah, my situation really isn’t good,” Silva said on his Instagram story. “Look at my eye.
“It’s half past three in the morning now. I can’t sleep because my head is throbbing too much.
“And tomorrow, not tomorrow, in a little while, right? I’ll have to go to the hospital for some more tests.”
