The UFC Perth co-main event ended with a nasty submission.
The UFC’s return to Western Australia might not have had too much buzz in the lead-up, with reports of low ticket sales, but the 12-fight card delivered for the most part.
The UFC Perth main card began with back-to-back finishes, with Neil Magny getting a submission win in a controversial comeback of the year contender against Jake Matthews.
In the co-headliner, Melbourne’s Jimmy Crute made it two wins in a row when he took on Ivan Erslan.

Jimmy Crute violently submits Ivan Erslan in the opening round
Crute wasted no time in getting Erslan out of the Octagon.
Crute only needed three minutes to snatch a hold of Erslan’s neck, pulling it back tightly.
Grimacing under the pressure, Erslan was forced to tap out to the submission, which officially went down as a rear-naked choke win for Crute.
“That was a crazy submission,” UFC commentator Dominick Cruz said cageside.
“Just ripped his head off,” Cruz added.
“That was a wrestling, WWE style move there,” UFC commentator Paul Felder said of Crute’s choke.
Ivan Erslan could be looking at a UFC release
Erslan has lost four out of his last five fights.
With this loss to Crute, the Croatian fighter falls to 0-3 in the UFC.
Erslan lost his debut against perennial contender Ion Cutelaba last year before dropping his next two bouts against Navajo Stirling and Crute.
This could very well be Erslan’s final fight in the UFC.
