UFC fighter asks referee for bathroom break after suffering low blow in Perth

A referee told a fighter “You can’t pee right now” during UFC Perth.

Fight fans are up early in Western Australia for a 12-fight card headlined by top light heavyweights Carlos Ulberg and Dominick Reyes, who compete for a potential title shot.

The UFC Perth undercard kicked off at 7AM local time, with an impressive decision win by Alexia Thainara and an explosive first-round knockout, courtesy of Australia’s own Brando Peričić.

The fans were a little annoyed by how the fourth prelim fight went as a low blow paused the action for almost five minutes.

However, this was far from a normal time-out.

Josias Musasa denied bathroom pass during UFC Perth fight

Colby Thicknesse bounced back from a loss in his UFC debut against Ilia Topuria’s brother, Aleksandre Topuria, with a near-finish win over Josias Musasa.

Before Thicknesse cruised to a decision victory, the Australian unfortunately threw a kick at his opponent’s crotch in the third round.

Musasa immediately went down to the ground, grimacing in pain.

The referee paused the contest and three minutes into the timeout, Musasa asked if he could pee.

“You can’t pee right now,” said the referee.

“After the fight…” the referee added.

Musasa took more than four minutes to recover before he got back into the fight, ultimately losing via decision.

Josias Musasa could be looking at the chopping block after UFC Perth

Josias Musasa’s UFC run is not off to a great start.

A fighter from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the 26-year-old suffered back-to-back losses at UFC Perth.

Musasa missed weight for his UFC debut earlier this year and was submitted by Carlos Vera in the opening round.

Musasa won his UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series by split decision last September.

Following an 0-2 start in the Octagon, there’s a chance the bantamweight could be let go by the promotion.
