Gearing up for a return to the ring, former world champion Anthony Joshua has no business at the top level of the sport, according to an iconic countryman.
Expected to make his return to the ring as soon as next year, former two-time world boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been linked most heavily with a historic showdown in Africa.
And with a frontrunner for the high-profile comeback of Joshua emerging in recent days, the Watford star still continues to draw links to an overdue grudge match with Tyson Fury.
However, as far as the pinnacle of his career is concerned, Joshua has been warned he’s already reached it and, as such, is now “done” at the top level against other contenders.

Carl Froch claims Anthony Joshua is ‘done’ after most recent KO loss
Yet to return to the ring since his hellacious knockout loss to Daniel Dubois just over a year ago, Joshua has so far been unable to secure a return to the ring.
And amid links to grudge pairing with Fury, as well as a mismatch clash with Jake Paul, the Olympian’s return is still no clearer.
However, as far as former WBC middleweight champion Carl Froch is concerned, Joshua should really consider staying away from the ring for good — claiming the ex-champion is “done” at the top level of the sport.
AJ (Anthony Joshua) was f—— break dancing on his head in his last fight,” Froch said. “He’s done. (Daniel) Dubois f—— ironed him out.” (H/T IFL TV)
Furthermore, addressing Joshua’s recent callout of Fury on social media, Froch has set the record straight — claiming the former two-time champion has no chance of following through on his promise.
“I’ll tell you something, he (Joshua) won’t be smashing his (Fury’s) head in. And I don’t think Tyson Fury would come out of retirement, to be honest,” Froch continued.
“He could do it if there’s massive money involved, which there probably will be. But I can only see one winner in that fight, and that’s Tyson Fury.”
Coach provides update on Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury
On the radar for countless years at this stage, a pairing between British megastars Joshua and Fury has so far failed to come to fruition.
And with his comeback to the ring expected at the beginning of 2026, Joshua’s long-time promoter Eddie Hearn remains confident of potentially brokering a fight with Fury as soon as next summer.
However, Joshua’s long-time head coach Ben Davison is the most recent boxing figure to weigh in on the chances of the blockbuster actually taking place.
