Michael Hunter says he wobbled Tyson Fury
In 2006, Tyson Fury and Michael Hunter battled it out in a UK vs US boxing match, in which the future heavyweight world champion got the decision.
However, ‘The Bounty Hunter’, who years later produced a valiant effort against Usyk before losing on points, claims he ought to have been the one who got his hand raised.
As per a 2024 KO on Sports Illustrated article, Hunter said: “I almost had him knocked out, I had him out on his feet. Obviously, he was standing up, so they gave him the victory.”
The skilled operator then added that Fury didn’t go through with their scheduled rematch.
Hunter claimed: “We were supposed to fight again a couple days later, but he never showed up, he just quit … They always do [that]. Pull out.”
