Magomed Ankalaev responds after UFC analyst ‘triples down’ on wild Dakota Ditcheva trade suggestion

Magomed Ankalaev is not happy with UFC fighter-turned-analyst Din Thomas.

The light heavyweight champion is currently preparing to defend his belt in a rematch with Alex Pereira at UFC 320 on October 4.

At the same time, the best 205lb fighter in MMA is facing calls for the UFC to remove him from their roster.

In February, Din Thomas caused controversy by suggesting the UFC trade Magomed Anklaaev for PFL star Dakota Ditcheva.

Magomed Ankalaev hits back at Din Thomas

Din Thomas recently ‘tripled down’ on his call for the UFC to trade Magomed Ankalaev to PFL.

“I’ve been saying this for two years,” the UFC analyst said. “When Ankalaev was running around trying to get fights, begging for fights, I said, ‘Trade his a— to the PFL.’

“The clip was actually a year ago…I went back after all this thing blew up…conveniently now, when he’s a champion…and not only am I doubling down, I’m tripling down.

“I am still saying that it would be a better trade. Dakota Ditcheva, she is 15-0 with an 80 percent knockout rate! If you don’t think that the UFC could make her a star, one of the biggest stars in all of MMA…she would be the biggest star in the UFC.”

On Thursday morning, Ankalaev responded to Thomas’s comments with a social media post.

The UFC light heavyweight champion tweeted: “Who is Diana Thomas?”

Ankalaev added a picture showing Thomas on the floor after being knocked out during his MMA career.

Dakota Ditcheva commits to PFL

Ditcheva recently signed a new PFL deal, ending any immediate talks of a move to the UFC.

The 27-year-old provided an update about her contract status after beating Sumiko Inaba in July.

“I have just re-signed with PFL,” Ditcheva revealed during her post-fight interview.

“We’ve come to a great agreement, and I’m gonna look forward to the next few years together.

“So, hopefully we can carry on bringing crowds like this because you guys really set a standard.”
