Gervonta Davis has received criticism from a former world champion for falling short of the standard set by Floyd Mayweather.
On November 14, ‘Tank’ will battle it out with Jake Paul in one of the biggest fights of the year.
While ‘The Problem Child’ is significantly bigger than his rival, Daniel Cormier is still looking forward to Paul vs Davis.
However, one ex-boxer isn’t best pleased with the WBA lightweight world champion.

Gervonta Davis didn’t rematch his hardest opponent, unlike Floyd Mayweather
Earlier this year, Gervonta Davis suffered a draw against Lamont Roach Jr. in a fight many believed he lost. However, rather than running it back with his foe, he has agreed to face a YouTuber instead.
Paulie Malignaggi claims that this behavior is something Floyd Mayweather never would’ve done, with the superstar rematching both Marcos Maidana and Jose Luis Castillo.
In an episode of Boxing Scene Today, Malignaggi said: “When it comes to Davis, he says in the press conference, ‘Just be a fan and enjoy the fight’. Enjoy what, bro? You vs Uber drivers? I don’t want to watch that.
“Then, you get a guy who gives you a good fight, and then you don’t even give him a rematch, and you want to be compared to Floyd Mayweather. Floyd gave instantaneous rematches when guys tested him.
“You had a lightweight division full of danger and a junior lightweight division when he was there that was stacked with talent; he swerved around them like cones on a racing track.”
Jake Paul made wild dig at Gervonta Davis as he discussed who he’s sparring
While Roach Jr. would’ve been a far tougher opponent than Paul, at least in terms of quality, Davis’ showdown with the social media star won’t be easy.
Not only is the Cleveland boxer significantly bigger, but he has the ability to unnerve his opponents with his relentless trash talk.
At the press conference, Paul fired a brutal shot at Davis.
