Dominick Reyes didn’t know whether he’d live or die during his brutal health battle.
At UFC Perth, the American will battle it out with Carlos Ulberg in what should be an exciting main event.
Should he win, then Reyes wants to fight Magomed Ankalev, providing the light heavyweight champion overcomes Alex Pereira.
However, just to be back inside the octagon, never mind in title contention, is nothing short of miraculous based on everything the warrior has been through.

Dominick Reyes opened up about heart-wrenching health battle
In April 2024, Dominick Reyes revealed that he was struggling with deep-vein thrombosis (a blood disorder).
His horrifying ordeal brought him closer to God and helped him focus on what’s really important.
In an interview with Submission Radio, he said: “I think a lot of it happened when I was living day to day with my deep-vein thrombosis and my doctor said, ‘Hey man, if you wake up today, then good on you. If you don’t, well, then it didn’t work out’.
“So I was living literally day to day, kind of as we all should really, and it was like a very profound experience, like I felt God, I felt His energy. He’s 100% real. I have no question in my mind at all that this is only a small piece of eternity.
“I had a very profound experience. I’m just grateful to still be able to fight and be on this platform and then once I win and when I win or lose or whatever happens, I can still shout his name on top of the roofs and still get people to see the light. That’s my mission now in my life is to bring people to the light.”
How can Dominick Reyes beat Carlos Ulberg?
The fight against Ulberg certainly won’t be easy for Reyes.
With the matchup taking place in Australia, the crowd is going to be on the New Zealander’s side.
However, the Californian is still more than capable of getting the win.
Interestingly, Reyes can use this blueprint to beat Ulberg.
