Floyd Mayweather took things too far when he made a professional wrestling cameo in 2008.
The boxing legend was at the peak of his powers when he got the call to fight at WrestleMania XXIV.
Floyd Mayweather is just 5ft 8in tall, so naturally, he was matched up against a 7ft behemoth.
In the months leading up to his mismatch with Big Show, the pair clashed at several WWE shows, including No Way Out 2008, where boxing’s biggest star jumped out of the crowd to ‘save’ Rey Mysterio from being attacked by the 500lb icon.

Floyd Mayweather broke Big Show’s nose
Big Show and ‘The Best Ever’ set up a scenario that would end with real punches being thrown in February 2008.
The 53-year-old professional wrestler agreed to drop to his knees, allowing Floyd Mayweather to land a combination of shots on his face – but he thought the trained knockout artist would take it easy on him.
A furious Big Show chased Mayweather out of the arena after getting his nose shattered by the boxer.
“I thought Mayweather hit me three times. He hit me five times, that’s how fast he was,” he recalled in his 2011 ‘The Big Show: A Giant’s World’ documentary.’
“And he hit me with a left hook that just shattered my nose. I mean, I felt the blood shoot right into the back of my throat. My adrenaline kicked in, and we were off and running.”
WWE legend-turned-CCO [Chief Content Officer] Triple H laughed out loud as he recalled Mayweather running for his life after breaking Big Show’s nose.
Triple H added: “He was momentarily so mad that, if you watch it back, it looked like the running of the bulls in Pamplona. He was like storming out of the ring, running over Floyd’s crew. This 300lb guy just got trampled by 500lb Big Show. He was so mad!
“Floyd ran. I was in the hallway waiting for Floyd, and Floyd ran up the hallway and went to his guy, Leonard Ellerbe, ‘Let’s get out of here, he’s gonna kill us!’”
Floyd Mayweather teases professional boxing comeback
Floyd Mayweather retired with a 50-0 record after beating UFC star Conor McGregor in 2017.
Since then, the 48-year-old has stayed busy by taking money-making exhibition bouts against the likes of Logan Paul, Deji, and John Gotti III.
Next up, ‘Money’ is expected to fight the 59-year-old heavyweight legend Mike Tyson at some point in 2026.
Mayweather has hinted that a shock return to real boxing could happen if everything goes well against ‘Iron Mike’.
“There have been talks. There have been talks. It’s possible,” he recently said about a potential professional comeback.
