Neil Magny can overtake Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira with UFC Perth win as he chases legend’s record

History could be made at UFC Perth as Neil Magny could move one step closer to breaking one of the UFC’s most impressive records.

Neil Magny is one of the biggest names on the September 27 card as he aims to land a win in the 12th year of his UFC career.

The Haitian Sensation is scheduled to take on fellow veteran Jake Matthews in a Welterweight bout, in Matthews’ own home country of Australia.

Magny has 23 wins in 35 fights in the UFC, putting him joint-sixth in the list of the most-active fighters of all time.

However, he can move closer to breaking another record if he can pick up a win at UFC Perth.

Neil Magny can overtake Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira in the most wins ranking at UFC Perth

A victory over Matthews at UFC Perth can take Magny clear of his rivals in the list of the most wins in UFC history.

The Welterweight is currently joint-second in the rankings, level on 23 wins with former world champions like Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway.

These three men are joined by Andrei Arlovski and Donald Cerrone as the fighters with the second-most wins in UFC history, although none are scheduled for UFC Perth outside of Magny.

This gives him the unique opportunity to go clear of the pack, with a win over Matthews making him the outright second-winningest fighter in the history of the UFC, with 24 victories to his name.

While Magny will be the favorite for that clash, he still has a long way to go to catch the all-time record holder.

Jim Miller is still four wins ahead of Neil Magny before UFC Perth

That elusive 24th win won’t be enough for Magny to make history, as Jim Miller is still clear of him at the top of the all-time charts.

A-10 holds numerous records in the UFC, with the most notable being for the most victories in the history of the promotion.

Miller has won 27 fights in total since making his debut back in 2008, although, like Magny, a world title shot has always eluded him.

Magny is four wins away from Miller, so UFC Perth gives him a chance to close that gap to three if he can get one over on Matthews on the main card on September 27.

However, the record will be even harder to break as Miller remains active despite his legendary status in the octagon. He last competed back in April at UFC 314, although he suffered defeat at the hands of Chase Cooper at the event.
