Jake Paul ripped as ‘ridiculous’ with Anthony Joshua fight on the cards for 2026 by boxing analyst

Jake Paul has once more come under fire amid confirmation that a fight with Anthony Joshua is not dead and buried whatsoever.

First tasked with returning to the ring in November, polarizing puncher Jake Paul met overnight with incoming foe Gervonta Davis, goading the WBA lightweight champion during their first face-off.

And expected to do battle, albeit over the course of 10 rounds in an exhibition pairing, Paul and Davis have been criticized largely for their part in the showdown in Florida.

But with talks of a fight with Anthony Joshua still on the table — potentially as soon as next year — in fact, Ohio influencer Paul has been mocked by a veteran boxing analyst for chasing the bout.

Jake Paul ripped for ‘ridiculous’ fight with Anthony Joshua amid latest update

Already up against the cosh for his booking of a fight with Davis, Paul has now been ripped for tying himself to a 2026 pairing with former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua.

As revealed overnight, Paul and Joshua remain on a potential collision course as soon as next year, with the Watford native first set for a “roll of the dice” pairing in his immediate return to the ring.

However, as far as veteran boxing analyst Gareth A. Davies is concerned, any sort of bout between Paul and Joshua is just “ridiculous”, given the sheer difference in weight between the duo.

“I mean, from the sublime to the ridiculous, then isn’t it?” Davies told Seconds Out about a fight between Paul and Joshua. “From a 130lbs man (Davis) to a — basically, he’s going up 100lbs in weight divisions. Literally going through the entire spectrum of the sport.

“It’s an entertaining prospect — it’s not one that I agree with,” Davies continued. “…If he does step in and fight Anthony Joshua — not a fight that I think is fair or advocate for, I think it’s a very dangerous fight for him. I think many people agree with that.”

Jake Paul risking Anthony Joshua showdown

First tasked with handing Davis a loss in their exhibition showcase, Paul has been warned he is putting his potential fight with Joshua on the line by facing the WBA lightweight champion.

As far as Joshua’s long-time promoter, Matchroom Boxing lead Eddie Hearn is concerned, it’s win against Davis or bust for Paul — particularly when it comes to his chances of fighting the Olympian.

Worse still, if he suffers a brutal knockout loss, he will likely miss out on the pairing altogether.

However, Paul launched his latest prediction for the November pairing, appearing gung-ho to abandon a typical exhibition ruleset altogether.
