Joe Rogan had a front row seat to watch Brock Lesnar’s short-lived MMA career.
The UFC commentator was on the call when Brock Lesnar became heavyweight champion in his fourth MMA fight.
Ultimately, ‘The Beast Incarnate’ quit MMA in 2016 after an action-packed 5-2 (1NC) run in the sport.
Nine years later, Brock Lesnar is back in the WWE, and Joe Rogan is wondering what could’ve been.

Joe Rogan thinks Brock Lesnar could’ve been the GOAT
Joe Rogan believes proper training time was all that prevented Brock Lesnar from being one of the greatest UFC fighters of all time.
The uber-athletic heavyweight didn’t debut in the sport until he was already in his 30s. Lesnar initially chose to go the professional wrestling route after enjoying a standout grappling career in college.
In 2018, Rogan shared his theory on what would’ve happened if Lesnar dedicated himself to MMA at 21 years old.
“I swear that if Brock Lesnar got into mixed martial arts right out of college,” he said on his podcast.
“If he really learned striking and learned slowly, like took some small fights. Really learned striking instead of spending all that time doing WWE, which I’m sure he made a f***load of money [from].
“I mean, good for him. That’s all great and everything like that. But man, I think he could have been one of the all-time greats.
“I really do. He was a freak. He was a giant.”
Where is Brock Lesnar now?
Almost a decade after his retirement, MMA fans are still hoping Brock Lesnar will make a comeback one day.
The 48-year-old still receives call-outs in 2025, with Eddie Hall and Butterbean being his most recent challengers.
Unfortunately, it seems almost certain that we will never see Lesnar inside the Octagon ever again.
The ex-UFC heavyweight champion is in insane shape right now, but that’s because he’s back with the WWE.
Lesnar left WWE fans in tears after laying out John Cena at Wrestlepalooza on Saturday night.
It seems the multi-sport legend has returned full-time to that league Joe Rogan thinks stopped him from fulfilling his MMA potential.
