Ciryl Gane believes that his unsuccessful heavyweight title fights will aid him at UFC 321.
Questions have been asked about Gane’s commitment ahead of his upcoming return to the Octagon on October 25.
‘Bon Gamin’ hasn’t competed since UFC 310 in December of last year which saw him come back from a break that lasted over a year.
Despite Gane’s inactivity, Tom Aspinall believes that he will be an improved fighter when they collide for the undisputed heavyweight title in Abu Dhabi.
What the Frenchman might lack in regular competition in recent times, he may make up for in experience, having already been a part of multiple title fights.

Ciryl Gane believes that his experience in title fights helps him deal with the pressure of big matchups
Tom Aspinall has argued against Ciryl Gane’s coach’s claims that all of the pressure is on his shoulders ahead of his first defense of the undisputed title.
While many fans have argued that the Brit has been the true champion for a long time, he’s yet to compete in an undisputed title fight.
The same cannot be said for Gane, who Aspinall has vowed to remove from the title picture at UFC 321.
Though ‘Bon Gamin’ is a former interim champion, his two previous attempts to win the undisputed crown were unsuccessful.
Gane was asked in a recent interview with UFC on TNT Sports about what he has learned from his losses to Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones that will help him this time around.
The Frenchman, who was an incredibly exciting addition to the division during his rise, stated that all of the additional pressures that come with competing in a title fight have become less of an issue for him with each bout.
“All of that. The [press] conference, the media, everything is heavy for the fighter. I remember against Francis, it was so, so, so heavy. It was not easy. This is good because you must be prepared for that. This added a little bit more pressure… I remember, for Jon Jones, it was easier so I’m sure for the next one it’s going to be easy.”

Ciryl Gane has consistently proved himself to be an elite heavyweight after setbacks
Ciryl Gane has been in the heavyweight title picture for a long time but for good reason.
His losses to Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones are his only defeats, and after each of them, he bounced back with two of his most destructive wins.
That being said, there is nowhere near the same amount of anticipation regarding Gane specifically in this title fight, which wasn’t the case in his two previous attempts.

His controversial win over Alexander Volkov at UFC 310 was not the kind of performance that gets fans excited to see what the fighter does next.
Gane is sure to have taken some valuable lessons from those setbacks, but they’ve also cost him a lot of momentum, at least in the eyes of the fans.
