Ronda Rousey ‘finding love’ for MMA again as UFC legend crushes pads ahead of potential comeback

Ronda Rousey says she has never been happier training MMA.

The former UFC women’s bantamweight champion had one of the worst fallouts in UFC history, when she suffered brutal TKO losses in back-to-back title fights against Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes.

Prior to that, Ronda Rousey was top of the world, having finished all eleven of her opponents inside the first round with armbars or strikes.

After a history of concussions, Rousey retired from MMA in 2016 and was later inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018.

Almost a decade removed from her final fight, the 38-year-old Rousey has fans clamoring for a comeback following her latest training footage.

Ronda Rousey expresses love for MMA with new training video

Rousey returned to training at the gym eight weeks after her latest pregnancy.

In a new video, Rousey said she hadn’t hit mitts in eight years.

Working on her boxing with coach AJ Matthews, Rousey has shown significant improvement in her pad work over the last several months.

“From 8 weeks after having a baby and 8 years of stepping away from MMA to 8 months postpartum and finding my love for it again,” Rousey wrote on Instagram.

“The first clip is my first session working with @aj_mma I was super self conscious, embarrassed of how much I regressed, and honestly trying my very best not to pee my pants throwing punches so soon after having baby Pā’ū.

“Second clip was yesterday, I’ve never laughed or smiled so much on the mat as I do these days,” Rousey added.

“The last 6 months have been an absolute blast, feels like I have so much left to grow, and without the weight of the world on my shoulders nothing is holding me back.

““What we learn with pleasure we never forget” Alfred Mercier,” Rousey wrote.

Will Ronda Rousey return to the UFC?

It’s been over 3,000 days since Rousey last stepped into the Octagon.

In a recent interview with The Lapsed Fan podcast, the former champion shot down the idea of fighting at the UFC’s White House card next June.

However, seeing how a 58-year-old Mike Tyson came out of retirement for the most-streamed fight in history against Jake Paul, Rousey said ‘never say never’ regarding a potential comeback, adding ‘she’s got better s— to do.’

If she were to return, the 38-year-old Rousey could mount a comeback against one of her former rivals like Miesha Tate, who is currently on the fence about retirement.
