Off the back of his heralded title win over Canelo Alvarez, the unbeaten Terence Crawford has been urged to take on a sizable challenge in his immediate return to the ring.
Writing his name in the boxing history books last weekend, Terence Crawford improved to 42-0 as a pro, scoring a one-sided unanimous decision win over Canelo Alvarez to snatch the undisputed super middleweight crown.
And with the boxing world now the Nebraska native’s oyster, Crawford has been linked with a host of high-profile bouts next, whether at super middleweight or a return to his welterweight stomping grounds.
However, a former foe of Canelo has suggested a rather interesting leftfield clash for Crawford next if he elects to leave super middleweight after his stunning cameo.

Terence Crawford urged to chase historic Dmitry Bivol clash
Adding the undisputed super middleweight crown to his mantle with his win over Canelo, Omaha technician Crawford had previously held the same distinction at both welterweight and light welterweight during his pomp.
And with fights against the likes of David Benavidez, as well as a rematch with Canelo floated already, Crawford has also been urged to consider a pairing with a certain British talent who has run roughshod at 168lbs.
However, former foe of Canelo, Russian veteran Sergey Kovalev, has suggested Crawford should now leap to light heavyweight and secure a showdown with undisputed kingpin Dmitry Bivol next.
“(Dmitry) Bivol,” Kovalev told Seconds Out when asked who Crawford should fight next. “…Very interesting to watch this fight, but I’m rooting for both, we will see.
“The fight will show who is the best, but yeah, let’s do this fight,” Kovalev explained. “I think the world would be happy to see this fight.”
A showdown with the undisputed Bivol would see the Russian star take on yet another super middleweight star in his gold-laden career.
Dmitry Bivol’s win over Canelo Alvarez
Becoming the first fighter to defeat Canelo in a staggering nine years, Bivol scored a shutout unanimous decision win over the Mexican in just his twentieth fight in the ring.
Facing off with the decorated megastar three years ago, Bivol would become the first fighter to defeat Canelo since the latter’s showdown with Floyd Mayweather at just 23 years of age.
Canelo had previously won the undisputed light heavyweight crown with his own staggering knockout win over Kovalev; however, he came unstuck in his bid to regain the belts against Bivol.
