Canelo Alvarez has been offered an exact date for a return to the ring off the back of his recent title loss, however, the callout comes from a sizable threat.
Suffering just his third career loss earlier this month, Canelo Alvarez saw his spectacular run at super middleweight come to an end at the hands of the unbeaten Terence Crawford in the pair’s undisputed title fight.
And adding to just prior defeats at both the middleweight and light heavyweight limits against Floyd Mayweather and Dmitry Bivol, the Mexican is expected to embark on a career retirement tour next.
One such fight long-mooted for Canelo would see him take on a certain unbeaten star, who has now tipped himself as the “future” of the super middleweight ranks.

Canelo Alvarez offered boxing return in May by undefeated British star
Fighting twice on Cinco de Mayo during his illustrious career in the ring, Canelo has now been offered the opportunity to return to combat during the opening weekend of next May.
And against a potential future champion who has been touted to even offer Crawford a stern challenge in a future fight, Canelo is seemingly in the crosshairs of the unbeaten Slough finisher Hamzah Sheeraz.
“Fireworks — well, first, I need to get the fight,” Sheeraz told IFL TV of a potential fight with Canelo. “So, God willing, we get it.
“Maybe in May, Cinco de Mayo weekend, ’cause I don’t think he’ll be fighting anytime soon,” Sheeraz explained. “But, yeah, fireworks — and we’ll see the future of the 168 [pounds] come through. Hopefully, before that, I get to fight for a world title or something like that.”

First, Canelo would score a unanimous decision win over Daniel Jacobs over the course of 12 rounds six years ago, defeating the resurgent New York puncher.
And last year, Canelo met with the streaking Jaime Munguia in a massive weekend for Mexican boxing, snapping the 43-0 unbeaten record of the Tijuana-born championship challenger.
