A staggering stat has surfaced following the super fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.
This past Saturday night, the biggest boxing fight of the year took place as Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford clashed for the undisputed super middleweight title at the Allegiant Stadium.
Despite heading into the fight as an underdog because of the fact he was moving up several weight classes, Crawford went on to score the unanimous decision win, becoming the new super middleweight champion.
And not long removed from the event, the viewing figures were announced with the fight finishing as the most viewed men’s title fight this century.
Canelo and Crawford almost out-earned entire UFC roster
Not only was the fight significant because of the title implications but also because it was TKO boxing‘s inaugural event.
UFC boss Dana White took to the stage earlier in fight week for the first time as the TKO boxing promoter, and he was pressed by the boxing media for his future plans in the sport.
One thing TKO boxing are reportedly attempting to get rid of in the sport is the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act, which protects boxers from exploitative and anti-competitive practices by promoters and managers, something that doesn’t exist in the UFC.
Despite that, it still remains in boxing and both Canelo and Crawford took home substantial purses from their fight, with the Mexican said to have earned at least $100 million.
And just under a week removed from the event, a new stat has surfaced, which makes for bleak reading for fighters on the UFC roster.
Canelo and Crawford almost out-earned the entire UFC roster’s pay from the beginning of 2025, just from their super fight. Reportedly the combined earnings for Canelo and Crawford were $200 million, with the estimated UFC roster earnings in 2025 just exceeding $210 million.

In boxing, it is far more common for fighters to disclose their purses and they are more publicly known than UFC fighters’.
And because of that, at this point it is largely unknown who the current highest earner is in the premier MMA promotion, with Ilia Topuria widely regarded as the sport’s biggest star, but that may not translate to pay.
