Terence Crawford backed to ‘KO or choke to death’ Ilia Topuria in MMA by 24-0 boxing superstar

One of boxing’s biggest stars thinks Terence Crawford would do well in MMA.

‘Bud’ is fresh off a career-best unanimous decision win over Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night.

The new undisputed super middleweight champion has quickly found himself in a war of words with UFC lightweight titleholder Ilia Topuria, who has been trying to set up a crossover fight with boxing’s pound-for-pound number one.

Shakur Stevenson believes Terence Crawford could beat the UFC star in the ring or in the Octagon.

Shakur Stevenson predicts Terence Crawford vs. Ilia Topuria

Shakur Stevenson is a three-weight boxing world champion with a perfect 24-0 record.

The 28-year-old has been training with Terence Crawford for years, and during that time, he has discovered that, unlike most boxers, ‘Bud’ possesses the wrestling skills that could allow him to successfully transition to MMA.

Stevenson wouldn’t be surprised to see Crawford KO or submit Ilia Topuria in the UFC Octagon.

“Those guys gotta leave ‘Bud’ alone,” Stevenson said about UFC fighters.

“I think ‘Bud’ Crawford is just different. In the boxing ring with him, you’re not going to last more than one round, I don’t think. You’re better off in the UFC. ‘Bud’ is a guy that I wouldn’t be surprised if he went to the UFC and beat the s— out of some guys, too. He’s got a great wrestling background. I’ve seen him wrestle real wrestlers on some everyday s***.

“’Bud’ looks bigger than that guy [Topuria], and he’s got longer arms. I just wouldn’t put it past him. I wouldn’t be surprised, come fight night, if they do an MMA fight, if ‘Bud’ done knocked him out or choked him to death, something like that. I just wouldn’t be surprised.”

Terence Crawford advised to retire

Terence Crawford has been urged to retire from boxing by Shakur Stevenson after beating Canelo Alvarez.

“I don’t wanna see him fight anymore,” Stevenson added.

“I don’t. It’s just a lot, it’s a lot. From training camps, the wear and tear on your body, and me being his brother, I really have endless love for this guy. I don’t wanna see (him fight again), I think he’s done everything in the sport that he can do.

“There’s nothing else that can be done. He made one of the best fighters of our generation look average, and I think that’s a huge accomplishment, and I think it’s time for him to retire on his high horse.”
