Ricky Hatton raced Floyd Mayweather in a private jet

Ricky Hatton couldn’t believe it when Floyd Mayweather wanted to overtake him in a private jet.

Of course, the Englishman couldn’t resist an opportunity to wind his rival up.

On an old episode of Ringside, he said: “HBO got us a private jet each to fly us from Los Angeles, to Michigan, to New York, to Las Vegas, to Manchester.

“No word of a lie, this sums Floyd Mayweather up to a tee. We were flying and the pilot goes, ‘Ricky, come here’, I go, ‘What’s up’? He goes, ‘Have you heard this idiot’?

“He put the speaker on and Floyd’s going, ‘Come on man, I’ll give you whatever money you want to overtake him’.

“So Floyd’s in the jet there and I’m in the jet there, and he must be saying, ‘Come on man, overtake him’, and the pilot is going, ‘I can’t’. He literally wanted to overtake me.

“I got the things out, and I was like, ‘Floyd, I’m going to get there first’.

“We had good memories.”
