Diego Lopes wasn’t going to let anything kill his mood after emerging victorious on Saturday night.
In the main event of Noche UFC in San Antonio, Lopes stopped Jean Silva in devastating fashion to produce a huge bounce back win.
The former featherweight title challenger showcased a lot of different aspects of his game in a wild fight before closing the show in the second round.
Silva has already reflected on his first defeat inside the Octagon while sporting the injuries that he sustained in the final moments of the highly anticipated clash.
While the victor didn’t appear to wear too much physical damage, that doesn’t mean that his body didn’t react negatively to something else on fight night.

Diego Lopes apologizes while in high spirits after being sick backstage at Noche UFC
Diego Lopes was in high spirits after getting his hand raised on September 13, and for good reason.
He produced arguably the biggest win of his career in a back-and-forth war that was capped off by a devastating spinning elbow.
Lopes even earned a $100,000 double-bonus from the UFC for his performance, making it a night to remember for the 30-year-old fan favorite.

It appears that his drink of choice to celebrate this moment in the immediate aftermath of the victory was Gatorade, which he may have gotten carried away with.
A video posted by Full Send MMA shows Lopes having to stop a post-fight interview backstage at Noche UFC to be violently sick before finding a bin.
The post claims that his Gatorade consumption was the culprit, and judging by the near fluorescent color of the liquid coming out of him, it seems pretty clear that this was the only cause rather than some kind of more serious issue.
Not that this stopped Lopes from enjoying himself, as he apologized to the people around him before seemingly cracking open another bottle.
Full Send MMA added that he was looked at by a doctor after this and was cleared of a concussion.

Diego Lopes provided evidence that his stunning finish at Noche UFC wasn’t a fluke
Diego Lopes caused a huge amount of damage with a spinning back elbow to Jean Silva that quickly led to the finish at Noche UFC.
Remarkably, it was his opponent that had consistently threatened this technique in the fight before the former title challenger perfectly timed one of his own while his foe was in pursuit.
Lopes went on to share a post on Instagram that showed that this was a technique that he and his team had been working on ahead of this fight.
He was able to capitalize on the incredibly aggressive style of his opponent, which is clearly something that Lopes and his team believed that he was capable of doing on September 13.
