Darren Till offered boxing return against ex-UFC bogeyman he said he’d never fight

Darren Till could meet another former UFC middleweight in the boxing ring.

After going 1-5 in his last six UFC fights, Darren Till has experienced a career resurgence in boxing, where he has yet to lose.

The former UFC title challenger made it four wins in a row when he brutally knocked out former UFC and Strikeforce Champion Luke Rockhold in the main event of Misfits Boxing 22 last month.

Weeks following his KO win, Till was called out by a knockout artist from a sport across.

Yoel Romero wants to box Darren Till, then Jake Paul

After Till won his UFC middleweight debut against Kelvin Gastelum in 2019, ‘The Gorilla’ claimed he would beat anyone in the division.

However, when he was asked about a potential fight with the dangerous Yoel Romero, Till said:

“F— that guy. I don’t ever want to fight him,” Till said at UFC 244 (via MMA Crazy).

“He’s a beast,” Till said of Romero.

Six years later, coming off a successful bare knuckle boxing debut at BKFC 80 last weekend, Romero says he’d like to share the ring with Till.

“After I saw him box [Rockhold], I love how he performed,” Romero said of Till on The Ariel Helwani Show.

“I’ve always wanted Jake Paul, but now I’m interested in Darren Till.

“After watching him, I think it’d be a great fight to have for my boxing debut,” Romero continued.

“After I beat Darren Till, I think the world will want to see Yoel Romero vs. Jake Paul.

“I want to give the fans a show. The people want to see Jake Paul laid out on the canvas,” said Romero.

Yoel Romero’s goal is to fight until he’s 52 years old

For Yoel Romero, age is just a number.

At 48 years old, Romero is still in incredible shape and has one of the best physiques in combat sports today.

Romero made quick work of his first BKFC opponent Theo Doukas, knocking him down multiple times for a second-round TKO at BKFC 80.

On Tuesday, Romero was asked how much longer he sees himself fighting for.

“I want to fight until I’m 52,” Romero said.

“I’ve always taken care of my body to make that dream into a reality,” said the former UFC title challenger.
