Tyson Fury, Tom Aspinall, and Jake Paul lead tributes after ‘people’s champion’ Ricky Hatton’s tragic death

The combat sports world is in mourning after the heartbreaking news that Ricky Hatton has passed away.

Hatton, a beloved British boxer who won multiple world championships throughout an illustrious career that earned him an MBE, died aged just 46 on Sunday, September 14.

News of Hatton’s death was confirmed by Greater Manchester Police, a spokesperson for which later noted that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

‘The Hitman’ was a likeable and widely adored character in boxing. His death will no doubt leave a big hole in the sport, which he had remained a part of after retiring in 2012 through promoting and coaching work.
