Callum Walsh walked away with 99-91, 99-91, and 100-90 scorecards for a unanimous decision victory.

It was a closer fight than the cards suggest, but it was obvious who would get the nod when Michael Buffer read them out.

Walsh now boasts a 15-0 record after retaining his WBC Continental Americas super welterweight title.

The 24-year-old can look forward to another step up in competition when he returns to the ring.

Fernando Vargas Jr. sparred Terence Crawford

Fernando Vargas Jr. recalled the time he sparred Terence Crawford during fight week.

The son of a former world champion who fought Oscar De La Hoya and Shane Mosley – Fernando Vargas Sr. – recently shared his thoughts on Canelo vs. Crawford, expressing a major chin concern ahead of the biggest fight of 2025.

“Terence Crawford, I’ve had the opportunity to spar with him, very crafty in there,” he said.

“It went good, it went real good. I went in there, I believe he was getting ready for Errol Spence, and I went over there to the Apex and we sparred, and he’s really strong… He’s one of those skinny, strong guys.

“So, he knows how to definitely use his strength. I think he’ll have early success with Canelo, maybe snapping his head back. You see Canelo picking up fighters when he gets frustrated, but I think Canelo will end up putting his punches together, and I think that power will just be too much.

“I don’t think Terence Crawford would withstand Canelo’s best shot, but that’s what makes it a good fight.”
